Personal

I was born (15/09/62) and currently reside in Uddingston, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. I married  Ann Marie McGuinness on 04/08/84 and we have two boys Brian and Kevin.

I worked in the Civil Service for 20 years starting in 1979, 3 years in HM Customs and Excise (which is where I met my wife Ann Marie) and the remainder of the time in the Ministry of Defence. -  http://www.mod.uk. I then worked with local government for 20 years in Glasgow Life from 1999  and then working as a IT Change Manager with Glasgow City Council - http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/ (Seconded to CGI) 2018-2019. I then took early retirement on 15/09/2019.

My hobbies and interests include swimming, lifesaving, pool lifeguarding, first aid, computing, music, movies and TV

I currently own two businesses both running training courses in swimming, lifeguarding and first aid. See details below:

Music

.Music - I have been interested in music all my life especially alternative music and my favorite bands are as follows:  

• Glam Rock - T-Rex, David Bowie and Alice Cooper
• Punk Rock - Sex Pistols, Clash, Damned, Stranglers, UK Subs and 999.
• Goth - Bauhaus, Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, Mission, Joy Division, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and Psychedelic Furs
• Grunge - Pixies, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Bush
• Currently Listening to - Therapy, Queens of the Stoneage, 3 Colours Red and Killing Joke.

Playing - I have also played in several bands since 1979. My most successful one was "The Mystic Warriors". This band made several demos/CD's and played many gigs throughout Glasgow and Lanarkshire. The band signed a deal with (now defunct) online record company Peoplesound.com and released CD's. The band consisted of 2 sets of brothers, as follows:

• Harry McNicol – Drums
